Rowing on a beautiful day
Life and death
I chose to take my picture of a dead and live tree. I chose to take my picture in a small forest near where I live. I chose this composition because I live in a forest so I'm always surrounded with trees and I love it but in that forest you always see life and death, it's the way nature is and the way to keep life going. The feeling I am trying to convey here is a feeling of acceptance to the fact that people in your life will die but you keep moving forward and in the end you will die with them it's all a circle that goes on for an eternity. Some errors I had while taking this was the lighting, I took many many pictures trying to get the right lighting because it was always to harsh so I had to wait for awhile to have the light get softer.
The reading tree
Beyond the Field
I chose to take my photographs in a area that has a small patch of uncut grass. The feeling I am trying to convey is a feeling of mystery. With the grass all bright and cheery and then there is a thicket of branches that look dark and foreboding causing a feeling of mystery since you don't know what's in there. Some errors I had was that there was a dirt road near this area and I kept on getting some of that road into the picture so I had to find the right angle to correctly portray what I was trying to show and an angle that would not show the dirt road. I had to take many trial pictures and chose between those to see which ones were the best 5.

I chose to take pictures when we were out on the water during crew training. I took these pictures on the Huron River while I was sitting in the launch with my coaches. I chose this composition because it is an area that helps me relax and forget my problems and stresses with all my friend. The feeling I am trying to convey with this piece is the feeling of calm this is because when we're out on the river everything is usually calm and relaxing while we are rowing and working hard to be the best, as a team. Some errors I had were when the pictures showed the buoys that were out because of a regatta so I had to try to cut those out since they are man made and not technically part of the river.
The waves we create
Tiny forest
The lone pine
For this landscape I chose to take photos of a pine tree that I used to always lie under to read. This pine tree is in my backyard which is a fairly large forest. I chose this composition because since I moved here 5 years ago from Arizona it's been hard on me and some days I wanted to be alone so I would go out into our forest and sit under this tree so I could think or just be alone and read. The feeling I am trying to convey from this photo is comfort because with just sitting under this tree I felt comforted and was able to think things through in my own time. A triumph I had was "The reading tree" because it really shows the beauty of this tree and the light, I believe, was done really well.
Greenest grass
Blocking the sun
I chose to take my pictures of a bare tree with evergreens around it. This was taken on a walk through my backyard which is a forested area. I chose this composition because my backyard is full of trees and wildlife and makes me feel very relaxed and happy when I walk though it. The feeling I am trying to convey from this photograph is the feeling of hope. With the sun shining through the trees and walking though the forest gives me a lot of hope that the days will get better and happier.
